Usage Guidance

For Babies (under 3 months):
As noted by Dr Stephanie Newnham, infrared thermometers may give higher readings in newborns under 3 months. For this age group, a digital underarm or rectal thermometer is recommended for the most accurate result.

Forehead Mode (3 months and older):

• Aim 1–2 cm from the centre of the forehead without touching

• Keep still during reading

• Ensure skin is clean and dry

• Provides reliable readings for all ages

Ear Mode (6 months and older):

• Gently pull the ear back to straighten the ear canal

• Ensure the probe is clean and free from wax

• Produces core-temperature readings close to rectal measurements
